Mario Eduardo Testino Silva (Lima, October 30, 1954) is a Peruvian fashion photographer based in London.

Born into an upper-class family, his parents were Teresa Silva and Mario Testino Guarderas.

He studied primary school at the Immaculate Heart School and secondary school at the Santa María Marianistas School.

He entered the Universidad del Pacífico to study Economics, then the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú to study Law, and later the University of San Diego, California, where he studied International Relations

In 1976 he moved to London, England, after occupying a flat in Chelsea, he rented a room in the abandoned Charing Cross Hospital. It is in this city that he began to learn about photography. His fashion career had humble beginnings: he sold portfolios to aspiring models for £25, including make-up and hairstyling.

In 2012 he founded the MATE Cultural Center in Barranco, Lima, dedicated to the profession of Photography.

In 2014 he was awarded by the British Crown with the Order of the British Empire for his “contributions to photography and social good”. </ p>

Many fashion magazines, such as Vogue or Vanity Fair, have requested his services to grace their pages. Many famous celebrities and models have posed in front of Testino's lens, including: Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Lily Aldridge, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Gisele Bündchen, Coco Rocha, Candice Swanepoel, Kate Winslet, Kim Basinger, Dua Lipa, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Naomi Campbell, Christina Aguilera, Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Hurley, Janet Jackson, Nicole Kidman, Britney Spears, Keira Knightley, Lindsay Lohan, Madonna, Kate Moss, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, Selena Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Patrick Dempsey, Emma Watson, Cristiano Ronaldo, Irina Shayk, Neymar Jr a photoshoot in France for actress Kristen Stewart and a photoshoot for Nick Jonas, among others.

In addition, Testino is known for being a photographer for some of the European royalty, especially the British. Among the most prominent are Princess Diana of Wales, Prince Charles of Wales, Duchess Camilla of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Henry of Wales and Queen Rania of Jordan.

Testino's work has been exhibited in several galleries and museums, including the Museum of Latin American Art in Buenos Aires, the National Portrait Gallery in London and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid
